Desmond Graham Three Poems
Chardin’s Fruit

a pyramid
of wild strawberries -
who holds them up

a basket of peaches
on two layers of leaves
settled forever -
if we could survive to look

a knife
its handle
its blade
almost out of sight

a walnut
one half
removed from its shell

the other intact
