Nadezhada Mikhaylovna Polyakova (1924-2008) was a Russian poet and author of numerous books of poetry, who died last year at the age of eighty four. Her last book, Cry of the Silence was published in Saint Petersburg in 2005. She was a veteran of the 1941-45 conflict.
