The Situation at Evening
The one who enters numbers
in the Book of the Dead
draws a thin red line
in India ink under the column
leaves the reckoning till the next
morning and places the pen
as a bookmark in the volume dealing with nomads
behind the blinds an unruly
group heads towards
the agreed meeting place
in the backyard of the old hospital
