Nic Stringer Three Poems
as [the Earth]

I remember with pleasure my home
and family    I remember with pleasure
having a good night’s sleep   I hold it indefinitely
until it is revoked            When I am sleeping
I am spinning      but not precessing
like the body’s poles     my motion is imperceptible

If I sleep more than 12 hours a day
I sleep over my happiness        a trick that can only
be performed                                    in space

as [the Moon]
I am an oddity       a loony
   From the Old French     lunatique
From the belief     that my changes
cause intermittent insanity

From the last time I was silly
but in a dangerous way
