Clive Watkins

Clive Watkins’s collections are Jigsaw (Waywiser Press, 2003); Already the Flames (Waywiser, 2014), which was a Times Literary Supplement Book of the Year; Pedic’s Dream (Common End Press, 2021); and Little Blue Man (Sea Biscuit Press, 2013), a chapbook with a single long poem. His poems have appeared in the U.K., the U.S.A. and Canada. In 2018 he won the Robert Graves Poetry Prize. In 2022, he was a prize-winner in the John Dryden Competition with seventeen translations from Eugenio Montale’s second collection, Le occasioni. He has written on Edward Thomas, Wallace Stevens (for The Wallace Stevens Review), Conrad Aiken, Eugenio Montale (in PN Review) , E. J. Scovell and Michael Longley, amongst others. He is an Associate Editor at the Waywiser Press.
