Indonesian writer, poet and artist Khairani Barokka lives in London, and is undertaking a PhD by practice in Goldsmiths’ Visual Cultures Department. She is Modern Poetry in Translation’s Inaugural Poet-In-Residence. Her work is widely published; her debut collection is Rope (Nine Arches Press). She is co-editor of Stairs and Whispers: D/deaf and Disabled Poets Write Back (Nine Arches), and has written for the stage.
