Nicky Hallett

Nicky Hallett is a Sheffield-based writer of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays. Her poetry has appeared in The Rialto, Magma, and elsewhere, including anthologies; long-listed for the Rebecca Swift Foundation 2022 Women Poets’ Prize; shortlisted for the Poetry Business 2022 International Book & Pamphlet Competition. Plays include Re/Sisters (2021), about the lives of Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore; and the script for a musical, Gwenda’s Garage (2023) about women mechanics and 1980s feminist activism, performed in Sheffield’s Crucible Playhouse – both under the auspices of Out Of The Archive, a community interest company she co-founded to animate LGBTQ+ lives and bring them out of archives into public spaces: www.nickyhallettwriter.com/
